The very first version of Mimicry was exhibited in the Swiss Game Lounge at the House of Switzerland United Kingdom 2012. After participating at swissnex San Francisco Game Gazer exhibit during GDC, Mimicry was invited by Pro Helvetia to show its new interactive painting and other projects during the Tokyo Game Show 2013 at the Swiss Game Booth. This particular painting shows a romantic landscape with which the spectator can interact by using the expressions on his face to modulate the weather and the environment.
Mimicryis a playful installation displaying a series of computer graphics paintings. As someone approaches the screen, the painting comes to life and reacts to the viewer’s expressions. Mimicry was produced through a collaboration between the HEAD Media Design Master program at Geneva, the Computer Graphics and Geometry Laboratory (LGG) at EPFL, and Faceshift AG.
